Sir Isaac Newton introduced 3 laws of motion. The first law states that an object either remains at rest or continues to move at a constant velocity, unless it is acted upon by an external force. I know this law all too well from my time spent working with a start up wind turbine company who’s blades were based off this law.
To paraphrase- a body in motion stays in motion, and a body at rest stays at rest.
How many times can you count that this has been true in your life. Those lazy days are definitely lazy and those days where I am able to accomplish a ton are truly productive days. So… why am I bringing this up?
Sir Issac Newton was speaking about objects when he created this law. Below is a great article that looks at this theory from Newton but is translated into human inertia and how we move, change, improve our lives and what it truly takes to shift the trajectory of our paths. According to the author, these paths were originated when we were small children. Much has to do with our surroundings and mindset.
I found the article interesting and just as applicable 10 years ago when it was written as it will be 50 years from now. Human behavior doesn’t necessarily change too much amongst the masses from generation to generation. Luckily those that read articles such as this have a greater awareness of how to adjust our course if we want to. Enjoy!!
Thank you and have a great week!
